These photos are just a few from the many years I have been with Professor Wally Jay and Small Circle Jujitsu. I first met Professor Jay in 1993 and have been with him ever since. I learned a lot from Professor Wally Jay and I continue to teach his art the way I know he wanted it to be. We do things a little different, but the 10 principles are always there and his name is always mentioned.
To use one of the many quotes I heard Professor Wally Jay say at seminars "what I do in Small Circle Jujitsu today, shouldn't look the same 10 years from now." He wanted his system to be more "self defense" oriented for the streets. He would say "why fight World War 2 with World War 1 weapons."
I am proud to have been one of Professor Wally Jay's first few schools. Back in 1996 there were only a handful of schools allowed to teach SCJ and I was one of them. The other's in the US were (my Sensei) Ed Melaugh (Boston), and Stan Miller of Portland, as well as Professor Wally Jay's home dojo.
I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures because I know I had a great time taking them and being in them. Professor Jay was a great man and his techniques and spirit will live on forever in my dojo.
