Professor Mark Tuthill
Shihan Mark Tuthill, a two-time inductee into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame as "Instructor of the Year", has been training in the martial arts since 1977 and teaching professionally since 1984. His training began under Sensei Mike Teto, the Founder of Shin-Yo Karate, and with Professor Wally Jay, Founder of Small Circle Jujitsu™, a two-time inductee to the Black Belt Magazine's Hall of Fame. Shihan Tuthill continues to train with Professor Ed Melaugh, a 9th degree black belt in Small Circle Jujitsu™.
In 1996 Professor Wally Jay honored Shisan Tuthill as "Head Instructor" of Long Island Small Circle Jujitsu™. In 2004 Shihan Tuthill was elected as the "Director at Large of Jujitju America, one of the largest jujitsu organization in the U.S. The American Federation of Martial Arts honored Shihan Tuthill into the Hall of Fame as the "International Instructor of the Year" in 2015, and "Shihan Master Instructor" in 2016. In 2019 Shihan Tuthill was named "Instructor of the Year" by Jujitsu America.
Shihan Tuthill has earned his black belt 7th degree in Smal Circle Jujitsu™ , black belt 6th degree with Jujitsu American, and black belt 2nd degree in Shin-Yo Karate. In 2010 he founded "Street Combat Jujitsu™".
Outside the home dojo, Shihan Tuthill travels extensively teaching seminars throughout the U.S., Caribbean and Europe.
He is also the founder of "Centerline Football", a breakthrough training program used by football camps ranging from pee-wee football to college level. Shihan Tuthill also conducts women's self-defence/rape prevention seminars. He has trained law enforcement, FBI, DEA, state and local police. He also teaches private classes throughout the year for individuals and corporations.
